My watch randomly reset itself I have a forerunner 35 had it for around 10 months, and all my history (data) is GONE! lucky I had synced it and didn't lose any activities, but I am wondering how I can get them back on there maybe manually by computer or phone. please help. I am a very good and elite runner and need to NOT lose any data!!

  • No sure what you exactly mean under "history", but you can review all your past activities and stats in the Garmin Connect account. As for personal records, courses, workouts, etc. - you can sync it from the GC account back to the watch too. If you need to review past activities directly on the watch, for some reason, you could export them from the Garmin Connect Web in the "Original format" (FIT files) and move them manually to the folder //GARMIN/Activity/. Renaming the files, using the same naming conventions as used by the watch (date in the file name) may be perhaps necessary. Perhpas not - I never tested it, so you have to try.

  • My watch randomly reset itself

If it reset itself, could be because a corrupt file or storage issues, so maybe think twice before putting everything back. Personally, I see no benefit to storing all of your activities on the device when you have access to everything on Garmin Connect Web or Mobile.

  • I agree with seilogramp - why insist on having the activities on the watch? According to the manual of FR35 you can view the last seven activities on the watch, but if they have been synced to Connect you will see all your history plus the added benefit of being able to filter on distance, dates and duration to view activities from the past depending on what you want to see.

Plus, what would happen when you upgrade and buy a new watch? With everything on connect you have an unbroken history, as opposed to starting everything from scratch on the watch itself.
