Course Elevation Gain/Loss vs Elevation Correction

I know questions like this have been asked a lot but:

A route I run a lot reports 104ft elevation gain when I have Elevation Correction enabled but the course I drew for it on garmin connect (same route) reports 249ft (also, when I turn elevation correction off it reports 249ft). Which do I trust?

Edit: I feel like I should trust the course, especially since the route has a peak of 628ft and a minimum of 491ft and I run a loop, but I just want to make sure since I assume elevation correction is suppose to be more accurate.
