My Garmin 510 has over the last 6 months progressively started to record shorter distances than should be the case (e.g. when compared with the 2 Garmin devices used by the guys I ride with and Strava where I have to use the "correct distance" option. For example, today the Garmin 510 and Garmin Connect recorded 40.41 miles but the distance when corrected in Strava was 41.85 miles. I have done the following but none has resolved the issue:
- Ensured software on device and Garmin Connect is up to date
- Tried resetting the wheel circumference by the amount required to record the correct distance
- Removed the wheel sensor
- Turned off the wheel sensor on the 510
- Performed a factory reset of the 510
