Corrupt .fit file, still possible to fix?

I tried the online fit repair tool but it seems to have deleted all GPS data. Is it corrupted too heavily or is it still possible to salvage the location data for this run?

Thanks in advance!

    hi,

    nice activity Thumbsup

would you be so kind and help pin-pointing trouble with other FR35 mishaps ?

    report back here :

    • the amount of FIT files in the ACTIVITY folder on your FR35
      • (when folder contains many fit files time for a backup/clean operation)
    • the amount of FREE memory on your FR35
      • (when low FREE memory, check above and below answer)
    • are you a MAC user
      • (empty BIN on device)
    • was this activity with a long duration or distance compared to previous activities
      • ( long ones use more memory )
    • was this activty with a pause somewhere during the activity

your activity was missing one byte and one byte only Slight smile

inserted missing byte, updated file length and recalculated file checksum

  • Thanks! It worked! When I was looking through the .csv it looked like everything was an error. Is there anything in particular that I should look for when I try to fix these kind of things through the repair tool?

    Troubleshooting:

    • There's 6 FIT files in my Activity folder, totaling 678 KB.
    • Currently I've got 2,41 MB free out of 3,27 MB total.
    • I'm a Windows 10 user.
    • Almost 24 kilometers is long for me. The previous runs were 8k, 5k, 5k, 11k, a 2k walk and then a 17k hike last week that took 5:30 hours. The 6 files that are on the watch include all those activities except for the last one, the 17k hike.
    • Yes I paused a lot. I'm not usually in Tokyo and had to check Google Maps a lot. I also paused at a bunch of traffic lights during the last stretch.

At some point the watch froze and didn't respond for 10-20 seconds. I think that might've been when the watch noticed it was full and had to cleanup some space, probably the long hike from last week. But that's just a hunch, I've got no evidence to back it up.

    thx for the feedback

I wish I could help with the repair tool, but have no experience using it, sorry Slight smile

my guess , the cause lies also with internal processing or memory management...just guessing here

and a guess that the FR35 was not meant for long activities
