Does anybody know if this is in development or if theres anything, other than a manual upload, that can be done to automatically send the file from my Tacx account to Garmin?

Its so sad, that garmin/tacx dont support that, that was my 1st hope when garmin bought tacx.

I do not know if there are third party software to sync Tacx and Garmin world but they have to integrate their services as soon as possible if the wat to add real advantage to buy a Tacx trainer for Garmin users.

The really very strange thing is that Garmin in partnership with ENEL in Italy launched a virtual competition using GPX tracks of "Giro d'Italia".
But... they asked to load the GPX into a Garmin devices and follow it. The problem is that because the device is not calculating the virtual speed people with a Tacx Neo series device have realistic speed at descent and big ascent instead of people with more basic indoor Tacx trainer that have low speed during descent and high speed during ascent.
And they decided not to enable the use of Tacx software, probably because it does not load activities into GC.
I cannot understand Garmin how can launch a virtual event without solving this kind of issues.
I've managed to import the GPX file for stage 2 of the virtual Giro into the Tacx Training App using the import GPS workout. It is now there waiting for me to ride. I hate riding the turbo using just the Garmin device. I will then export the finished TCX file back to Garmin Connect and see if that appears on the event website. A bit long winded, but if it works it will be the only way I'm going to attempt the remaining 5 stages.
I agree, I really don't like just using my 530 for the trainer. I wonder if you could send it to RGT and get them to map it out. They do it for all premium members, and right now all you have to do is ask and premium is free, and then you'd get a virtual representation of the ride. Still need to export/import the file afterward to get it in to GC, but it might be more engaging

I agree with you but...
The problem is that you have different speed in ascent and descent that with the 530 or any other Garmin device because Tacx use virtual speed and Garmin not.
So, they are adding penalties to people that are using Tacx platforms.
The crazy thing is they are adding penalities also to people are using 820 or 520 because in GC activities there is not the elevation profile but this is a limit of Garmin device.
The same with 520/830 because there is a bug and you have the elevation profile only starting the GPS from navigation menu and not from the indoor training menu.
It is not a surprise that Garmin is not ready to manage a virtual competition. But how that can think to continue to manage it in this manner?
How do you put them into a .tcx file
There is a setting to receive the file via e-mail from Tacx every saved activity into Tacx platforms.
