Undeserved badge in Garmin Connect

Hi,

I recently got the "Slipstream" badge after an indoor bike workout.  I absolutely do not deserve this badge.  Is there a way for me to remove the badge without removing the activity?  Garmin should reconsider giving out this badge for indoor rides.

For the cyclists, it's a badge you get when you do 40km in less than an hour.  This is pretty hard to do and should never count on an indoor ride.  On a modern trainer your speed and therefor distance is almost completely removed from your actual power.  Anyone can get this badge if they pedal for an hour on a smart trainer in erg mode with low resistance and in a high gear.

  • I recently got the "Slipstream" badge after an indoor bike workout.

That is surprising, because originally, and still just a few days ago, this kind of badges was awarded only for outdoor activities using GPS. Could you share a link to that activity, or post its screenshot?

You can remove the badge, by editing the activity. Especially make sure its type is still "Indoor Cycling"

  • ah yes, you are right - I just tested it, and indeed the badge is now available even for indoor cycling, which was not the case previously.

Unfortunatelly, the only way to get rid of the undeserved badge, is editing the indoors cycling activity so, that the resulting average speed comes out lower than 40km/h. I agree that it should not be awarded for indoors cycling, and that is aso what the badge FAQ tells. Looks like Garmin changed their opinion

  • Yesterday I got the 'climber' badge for a stretch I've done at least a dozen times before which has maybe 8 ft of rise over a mile. ('Climber' is for >500 ft.)
