Garmin Instinct and Garmin Connect on Android phone don't agree on time zone.

Recently traveled across international date line and my Garmin Instinct watch has adjusted via GPS and is showing the correct time, but the Garmin Connect App is off by a number of hours even after syncing with watch. I have disabled app and reloaded it and same result.  My phone is on the correct time. How can I get Garmin Connect to adjust to my current time zone and match the watch?
