Problem with forum software when pasting text into existing post

Hi

Dont know where to put this.

I have an app and I am editing the releasenotes in my post in the forum when I upload a new version.

But everytime I try to add some text, it always hangs after pressing "POST" Button. Sometimes, it works, most of the time it doesnt.

I wanted to post the changes of 2.3.0 but cant get it to work. This is the text:

2.3.0
* new value: pacer current ahead time.
Renamed pacer ahead time to pacer target ahead time.
* max value for displayed pace is now 9:59 for min/km and 19:59 for min/mi
* Pacer ahead time writing to fit file is now optional.
If enabled, both pacer ahead times writing takes about 800 bytes of space after timer start. By default it is disabled.

I tried to paste only parts, the first line did work, the other lines didn't.

Strangly enough it works here obviously.

Is there any trick to paste new text into an existing post?

    On Windows, after copying the original text, try right-clicking the text area your post, and from the context menu select "paste as plain-text", or use Ctrl+Shift+V, instead of Ctrl-V. No idea how it works on Macs.

    Also make sure that your session did not expire in the meantime. The best way to do it is opening a page of the forum in another tab.

    Sometimes, the forum is simply very sluggish, and you have to wait up to several tens of seconds, before you get a response.

    Thanks for the fast answer. I already tried that, pasting as plain text, same problem. I also tried editing the source code.

    Session should also not be the problem, it was right after I refreshed the page.

    I waited 10 minutes and the "POST animation" was still there.

    Is the text above exactly the same (and as complete) as the one you could not post in the other forum? Perhaps there are some limitations of lenght in the devel forum, or the text contained some banned expressions or links. For example I remember I could submit a post containing the word breaststroke, only when it was written in this form together, and not in two words.

    Damn, seems to be really a length limitation. I cut some text from previous releases and now I can paste the text.

    Didn't think of that one. Thanks for the tip!

    Could anyone from the dev. guys confirm a text limitation in the forum?
