Average HR, Speed, etc for sections of a ride?

In the good old days when Garmin had their own Windows desktop application that allowed you to do analysis on sections of the ride to get averages, etc without the need to keep hitting the lap button....

Is there anything like this on Garmin Connect that would allow dynamic recalculation of this sort of data based upon my selection post ride?

  • I'm currently developing on my macbook...

I've signed up with the Developer program at Garmin to look into this more as there is other Garmin Training Centre functionality that I would like to replicate in my project.

Thanks for your patience in researching and trying to help, appreciate having someone see if the functionality already exists or not.

I have written win32 apps previously for working with Garmin xml files so I'm sure it should not take too long to get back up to speed once again.

  • Try changing the privacy setting of the activity (click the lock symbol up right) to "My Connections" or more. The Segment tab will then show up (after a page reload). Also change the default privacy setting for activities in your user profile. At past activities you will have to turn it on manually, though (or use a script that is available somewhere here on the forum)

  • No need for the screenshot anymore, it is the privacy setting, I am pretty sure

  • Privacy setting.... For my own ride data? Where would this be changed?

  • You really do not read my messages at all, do you? Smiley I wrote clearly - click the lock symbol up right (on the respective activity screen). And also change the global privacy settings for activities in your user profile, as I wrote, too.

  • Sorry trux, there is no such message I have seen with this instruction.....

  • trux, now I see your message, but this was not showing up in the list....

  • I see this but I do not see why this has to be changed from "only me"

  • Look at just he one before my last one Slight smile It is in the first sentence. And the note about the lock symbol is in parethesis. And of course, I referred still to the same page we are at, since the beginning.

  • I see this but I do not see why this has to be changed from "only me"

No idea. Simply because it is designed so. Probably because the main purpose of the segments is to compare your performace with that of others. However, you do not need to have any contact at all, and still can make it visible to that group, and the Segments tab will appear.
