No option to change course type as hiking in app

When I download a gpx file from a website and open in the app I get the option to edit the course. However the menu in which to edit the course type does not give the option to change the type to Hiking. I have logged in via Garmin Express on my laptop and I can have the option to select the course type as hiking from there.

Am I doing something wrong in the app or is there a fix due for this from Garmin?

Thanks

Stu

  • In Garmin Connect Web, go to Training » Courses, select the course you want ot modify, click the tripple dot symbol in the left bottom corner, select Edit, and then, at the bottom of the window, you can select any Course Type you wish in the drop-down box. Once selected, click the button Save Changes.

Slightly different on how I get to the edit option. I am using android are you using apple?

Through the connect app I select training- courses- then select the course- when the map opens I then swipe up and select edit course then course type.

I then have the option of changing course type to road cycling, gravel unpathed cycling, mountain biking, running or trail running but no hiking option.

The only way I can change to hiking is via garmin Express not the connect app

You are on the Garmin Connect Web forum here, not on the one for Garmin Connect Mobile, so you should be using either a PC or a Mac, though you can certainly also open the GC website on a browser of your phone, if you wish.
