Why are my GPS traces not showing any more for activities older than 3 years?

I can't see old (older than 3 years) GPS traces of my activities. Are they automatically erased?

No they are not. I see my activities (with GPS track) back to my beginning (2012)

The activities that were missing GPS traces were imported from Training Center. Somehow the old GPS traces are no longer available in that SW and the TCX files didn't include the traces.
