Heat Rate Zones from 3rd party apps

I use Sufferfest for indoor cycling on the turbo trainer.  Sufferfest links with Garmin connect so that I can see all my Sufferfest workouts, as well as all my Garmin recorded workouts (from Garmin Edge or Forerunner) in one place - on Garmin Connect.  But the heart rate zones from Sufferfest are not transferred, so Garmin thinks I'm not working very hard for all my Sufferfest rides.

It seems that there is only a way to change heart rate zones on different devices, not in general for running or cycling i.e. I can change my HR zones on my Edge (for cycling), and I can change my HR zones on my Forerunner (for cycling and running), but I can't change my HR zones for Sufferfest rides if they're just being recorded by the Sufferfest app and then sent to Garmin.

Does anyone know a way around this?  Surely it would be easier if Garmin Connect just had HR zones for cycling and running (and whatever other sports), rather than different zones for each device!

(The same problem occurs if using other turbo apps, like Zwift)

Thanks

Ted

  • "Time in zones" is a feature of certain garmin devices. Activities from other sources do not provide this data, and Garmin Connect by itself does not recalculate time in zones.
