Unable to connect to the Garmin Connect web site from my laptop.

Unable to connect to the Garmin Connect web site from my laptop running Win 8.

I have tried multiple browsers and also from my work laptop which runs Win 10, no difference. I have also reset my password a number of times. Each time I log in I see the empty tiles for a few seconds before being returned to the screen with the two guys running. This has been going on for some time now. Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA

  • Just to rule out issues with your account, can you get to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/ from your phone using cellular signal or from a computer that is not routing through your home Internet?

Thanks for the response, it is much appreciated.

Same result when testing from my phone on cellular network with WiFi deactivated. I login, the tiles start to load but then I get logged out and returned to the screen with the two guys on it and the login box again.

When I said above I tried from my work laptop, this was from the office, so on the work network which has full access to the internet. I use Firefox as my browser. I downloaded the other browsers just to test access as I had seen similar issues from a few years back where clearing browser history was recommended. As I had never used these other browsers there would be no history, but still the same result.

  • Seems this could be a regional issue or possibly problems with your account. Is there someone nearby that could try with their own Garmin account?  I'm in the US and have no issues from anywhere (at the moment). I've seen in the past where users had problems that were resolved either by clearing out Internet cache, trying a different browser, trying a different computer, restarting their router or checking from a different location or using a VPN connection.

I don't know anyone else with a Garmin account who could test access. I am in Ireland. I have rebooted the router a few times also but it made no difference. I can test with a VPN as I have not tried this option, but multiple laptops (3), multiple browsers (5), clearing cache, setting up a different profile and rebooting router have all be tried and did nothing with regards to access.

Thanks again for your input, it is much appreciated.

  • You could try creating a new account just for testing purposes. I actually do this to test various Garmin-related issues. If all else fails, suggest contacting Garmin support. If that is not helpful, I can forward this thread to a Garmin admin to see if they are aware and could possibly provide further assistance.

I have opened up a support case via email to Garmin to see if they have any ideas. Just tried there using Nord VPN connected to the US. I shut down browser before I connected and still see the same issue. Tried with Chrome also on VPN and still the same. Can only think it is an issue with my account. I can try setting up an account with different email to see if that works.

I was able to set up an account and successfully login using a different email so looks like an issue with my account.

  • Great! At least you know where the issue is now. Email support could take days to get a response, especially if there are follow-up questions. If you have the option to call or chat online via the suport site that might be best.
