Annoying Garmin Coach rescheduling behaviour (for missed workouts)

I ended up missing a workout with Garmin Coach yesterday.  I got up this morning intending to do the workout today instead but my calendar showed that I'd skipped the workout and I couldn't find any way to reschedule the skipped workout today (it seems you can't reschedule workouts that have already been missed).  So I went ahead and did an adhoc run instead.  A few hours later my Coach schedule has updated and it has now rescheduled my missed workout for today, but obviously too late as I've already done something else.  It would be nice if this behaviour could be changed so that the auto-reschedule happens earlier, or that when I start my run I'm prompted and asked if I want to do yesterday's skipped workout, or simply just the ability to do a manual reschedule.

Or have I missed something?

Thanks

Andrew

  • This is so frustrating. I know it will re-jig the rest of the programme, but I want to go for my missed run so I'm just creating an equivalent run. No idea how that will interfere with my program. Seems to be something Garmin should at least be responding to, even if they're not going to fix it!

  • This works on my Fenix 6. Select Run, go into options and selct Workout. You should be able to select your skipped workout from there. I did this on a Garmin Coach 10k plan today after I missed Goal Pace intervals yesterday.

  • There is no 'Activity' menu...

  • I just tried the solution from trux and it worked for me (Fenix 6).  I went to Run/Options (up/menu)/Training Calendar/Yesterday (scroll up)/Do Workout.

  • The past workout definitely does not appear on my training calendar.

  • I paused the programma, deleted all the new planned workouts and the missed workout.

Then I restarted the programma and I could do my missed program over again.

My missed programma was not completely the same but at least i don't have to do a whole week on a lower intensity

  • Hi,
did you try drag & drop the workout in your calendar on the Garmin connect website?
    it did work for me.

    Best,

  • Nice workaround. Thank you.

  • Had this problem myself on my 245. Missed a run then wanted to do it the next day. Lost the option to select yesterday when syncing just before I went out. So this is the first tip. Don’t do that.

If you do, then second tip would be to go into Garmin coach and change your workout days. Mine were MWF and it was the Friday I’d missed. Changed to MWS and hey presto, the missed workout was available on the Saturday. Did the run, synced, changed back to MWF. Sorted.

  • Just to add a vote to this being supremely annoying. If I skip a workout, I want to be able to reschedule it to another day. Its really bad that you can reschedule todays or future workout, but not the one from the past. Please bring this feature (im using Venu2 and its definitely not possible to either do or reschedule past skipped Garmin Coach training workout)
