Garmin Golf Performance Stats

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help explain the Golf Performance Stats. Not sure when it says my driving for example is 'Above Average', does that mean that it's better than those of a similar handicap or worse (as in above average number of shots?)

Similarly, when looking at the 'rankings' of driving, chipping etc, if you're ranked 75%, does that mean you're in the top quarter (as in 100% is best), or that you're ranked 75th percent and that are in the bottom quarter?

Many thanks

  • I'm guessing there is no update on this one? I also have no idea what the stats mean. I understand the general concept of strokes gained etc but I'm a 14 handicap and appear to be performing slightly better than a PGA tour pro for putting according to strokes gained so there is something not quite right I suspect.

I also don't understand the top % figures as others have suggested. Purchased CT10 recently to go with my s42 and really disappointed in the stats. They are pretty meaningless. Shame because I much prefer the core GPS performance of Garmin over Shot Scope, but the stats and customer support from shot scope is light years ahead

  • I just gave up waiting in the end and bought a Shot Scope watch about 2 years ago now. If you are serious about using stats to improve your golf then it's miles better than what Garmin have to offer. They still can't even tell us what their own stats mean.

  • @Garmin-Rob

The lack of innovation of the dashboard and lack of exlpanation for some of these metrics is why I've abandoned Garmin Golf.  Please feel free to relay that to your team.

I've moved on to ShotScope and I'll encourage anyone I see with a Garmin Golf device to do the same.
