Garmin Golf Performance Stats

Hi, 

Wondering if anyone can help explain the Golf Performance Stats. Not sure when it says my driving for example is 'Above Average', does that mean that it's better than those of a similar handicap or worse (as in above average number of shots?)

Similarly, when looking at the 'rankings' of driving, chipping etc, if you're ranked 75%, does that mean you're in the top quarter (as in 100% is best), or that you're ranked 75th percent and that are in the bottom quarter?

    He responds and add you to a list but nothing has come of it.  Did he explain it to you?  Basically it sounded like he was gathering names to attempt to bump it up the priority list but in reality all we need is an explanation that unfortunately no one can give us 2 years in.  If its broken say its broken if its not then just explain it.  Not that complicated.

    Why is there still no answer to this? Makes no sense why you have it in the app without even being able to tell us what the number means. My guess the lower the better but who knows… not even garmin.

    My handicap is 8.1. Garmin says my Strokes Gained v a PGA Professional is -0.08. That's crazy talk!!

    I've said it before here, how can a little startup company like Shot Scope get their stats so right and a behemoth like Garmin get theirs so wrong?

    Just adding my name to the list for more info 

    any update on this would be great. As mentioned above, a lot of money invested in this so some more accuracy and explanation would be great!

    Can I double check, am I right in saying the shots are only tracked on the app of you enter your score as you go through your round? 

    entered a round yesterday and added score and shot history appeared afterwards, whereas today I didn’t add my score and hits didn’t appear?

    Hi there, I would also like some clarification or explanation of the performance stats, as My ranking is 90% vs all for driving and 23% for drive distance, and 93% and 23% vs handicap for driving. Can you clarify at all?

    Why can’t you just reply to the question publicly instead of sending everyone a private message? Is it a secret on how to interpret the data? Clearly it is something that Garmin needs to explain better so I’m confused why the question would be handled this way. Thanks

    Correct. If you don’t save the round then it cannot record the shots. I assume you could enter you shots as you’re playing but not record the score and as long as you save the round the shots would be recorded. I wouldn’t recommend it though since it will have no way of knowing what your scored therefore not able to track recoveries, chipping, putting.

    Does your driving distance stat still read this way? I do not average 287 off the tee. More like 274 and it says my distance is 70% so I’m curious if they changed this or if something is just off.
