Garmin Connect and MyFitnessPal Connection/Synchronsiation

Hi,

Garmin Connect has disconnected from MyFitnessPal but won't let me reconnect. I keep getting the following message in red:

"That MyFitnessPal account is already connected with a Garmin Connect account. Please try another."

However, there is no way of checking what account it is linked to. The only option on the Calorie In/Out is to "Reconnect" and I just keep getting that message. As a result, I seem to be going around in circles. Strangely, the Calorie Out information is still synching with MyFitnessPal and I can see this on the Food Diary page.

Anyone else suffering from this? I've never had it before.

I didn't have this issue but a similar one.  To fix I disconnected the accounts from each other on both apps.  Waited 10mins then reconnected them.  Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply.

Although it says it is Disconnected on the Garmin Connect website, it is obviously still connecting to the MyFitnessPal as it is updating the activity Calories. I'm probably being stupid, but I cannot find a way of disconnecting it within MyFitnessPal, so I can't really try your solution.

Open MyFitnessPal hit the menu button (top left), hit apps & devices, hit connected, hit Garmin Connect, hit disconnect.

Did it fix it for you?

I managed to disconnect Garmin Connect within MyFitnessPal as you suggested. I then reconnected, and it was fine for the first synch. But once I left the page it disconnected and I had to go through the whole process again.

It's a bit strange. I'm not really sure what's causing it. I guess I can synch data by reconnecting manually at the end of each day, but I really shouldn't have to.

That worked for me.  Thank you!  (I haven't gone out and come back, so fingers crossed.)  I had the exact same message as orig. poster.

For what it's worth, I'm still having to do this manually. The synchronisation between Garmin Connect and MyFitness seems very flaky - I'm now finding that the active calories from my Garmin are not always synching automatically to the Food section of MyFitness (which they did before).

It is all a bit random and frustrating. The MyFitness site also seems to be down more often than not. It wouldn't surprise me if support for MyFitness from Garmin stops at some point in the future.

  • cool, simply disconnecting solved my issue
    thx
