How is computed elevation gain with GPX (from FR 935)

Hi,

After a MTB session with my FR 935 , the elevation gain given by Garmin Connect  is 640m.

But when I download the GPX file from Garmin connect and I compute myself the elevation gain I found 825 m ! !  I rounded all values at the centimeter (2 decimals) .  With 1 decimal, it is the same value.

Where does this value of 640m come from ?
The FR 935 has a barometer so I suppose that all the elevation differences stored in the GPX are right.

Thanks

Sergio
