Earning Badges in Garmin Connect

Hello!  

So I have earned just about every badge I can get, except for the ones like "running 100 miles,' "the flying squirrel," and some of the more extreme distance/dive/bike badges.

I was OK with that and with the fact that I will probably never see level 4.  However I am frustrated to see badges that you can only earn with a specific Garmin watch (Captain America and Captain Marvel watches.)

Is this the new normal?  Are we now going to be limited to what we can earn based on the watch that we own? 

I am just curious.

    Wow, really nice. It works great and do exactly what I requested and more. Only issue is that it can be a bit cumbersome to install and have it activated. Your installation guide is very good, but I don't think everyone can follow it since the DevTools looks a bit scary :-) 

    I've never created an extension so I don't know how hard it is but that would be a really nice addition to your scripts.

    Yes, it's true, but I did it primarily for myself to bypass also diverse other shortcommings of the GC interface, so why not sharing it with others. Whoever is interested, and able to follow the instrutions, can use it. Creating a browser extension is possible, of course, too, but I have no experience with it either, and currently do not plan doing any, so if anyone is interested in developing it, then it could be certainly done much more user friendly.

    Those badges are super funny, 30k+ steps per day is not repeatable but 15min with dumbbells at home is (at least garmin should put some time limit for those), and it's 4 pts, It's like running marathon or more every two weeks (the curiosum here is running 100 miles in single activity for ONLY 8 pts)! Actually its demotivating :D

    Now it seems like fair game, if someone creates a cheap cracked watch to spoof one of the avengers watches to use on garmin connect. I will definitely buy one if available.

    You can spoof the models by downloading editing and reuploading the TCX files if you wanted those on your account.

    I tried this today with a 90+ min activity after I found your reddit post, but doesn't seem to work (anymore).

    Yup, I agree, no longer works this way.

    I suspect there may be a chance it could work using https://gotoes.org/strava/Add_Timestamps_To_GPX.php as it allows you to change devices to one of the legacy series watches, but possibly only with a FIT file, which is only available to Patreon donators (tested TCX, no joy)
