Swimrun activity has a good trace but is all messed up in multisport activity

Hello,

Last Saturday I did run/siwm a Swimrun and used my Fenix 5s Swimrun activity.

It uploaded OK in Garmin Connect.

When I look at the global trace it look really good.

But when I look at the total distance it is approximately double of what it should be and there is a major issue with the individual activities.

There should Be 5 runs (and it did begin with a run) and 4 swims. During the activity it was showing as expeccted "Trail running" and "openwater swim" when I was transitioning from one activity to the other.

There is also a strange behavior when I click on one of the activity in garmin connect and then on the following one : it is showing the trace of the activity but also it draws a direct line to another point.

Here is my FIT file. I think there is a corruption but I don't know how to correct it.

Could someone help me to repair it or guide me on how to repair it ?

I gave it a try and relabelled the sessions from your multisport activities

in your fit file....

first session is Run/Swim

second session is Run only

third session is Swim/Run

fourth session is Swim/Run

last session is Swim/Run

I only relabelled the sessions with their original sport combinations

Is this ok, or does it need another arrangement ?

I think there's something broken in Garmin Connect right now. I have an old swimrun activity that used to display correctly, but when I look at it today, I see similar symptoms as you described.

Thanks a lot for your work, With that, the length and trace of the activity is good.

But could I ask you more ? Thanks to you giving me the individuals parts, I was able to split the swim parts from the run parts (as it should have been with the transitions)

I can't import them individually as the two splited parts have the same id (I used Section remover from fitfiletools to remove parts that were not for the "good" activity)

What tool are you using to split le fit file in multiple "simple" activities and fixing all this ? Is there a free or not too expensive tool to do the job or is fitfilerepairtool the only one (it seems good but a little bit expensive if only buy for 1 or 2 usage per year).

In any case, your modification already helps a lot with good total distance and one more time thank you.

Thanks for the info. At least the problem might not be from my file. Hope Garmin will fix this soon.

it is the only one I know that does all the tricks needed

And yes, number 8 was a long swim... wind from the front, partner who was seasick and waves biger than what we were expecting ;-)
