Garmin Connect web bug in Floors Per Minute (Floor Climb activity)

On the detailed review of the Floor Climb activity, the value Avg Floors/Min is being shown correctly, but the value Max Floors/Min shows a value that looks more like Floors/hour. Should be devided by 60.

Which device are you using? U am using Fenix 3 HR and I can not find such app or built in activity

  • Fenix 3 HR is rather limited, but it supports the IQ technology, which means you can use the app Any Activity (or similar) for adding any missing activity types.

    Hi trux,

    Thanks for the timely response.

I have used 2 methods to track the floor climbing activity:

    1. use walking activity and changed the type of activity post training to "floor climbing"
With this approach I was able to earn the "Virtual climb - The Narrows" badge
    2. use the any activity app and choose "floor climbing" activity

With both methods the activity is not shown correctly on the Garmin connect widget phone application and on Garming connect web. see picture.

Is that because I am using my Garmin Fenix 3 HR which does not have a builtin activity app for "Floor Climbing"?

My Fenix 3 HR records the floor correctly using the built in widget on the watch, so I do get the tatal number of floors correctly on the daily totals both on watch and on the app.

    Can you please advise?

    Thaks

  • Yes, you need a device actually counting the floors and reporting them in the FIT file, so that it can be shown directly in the activity details. However, even with an incompatible device you can simply edit the activity in GC, and enter the number of floors manually.
