Body battery sync multiple devices

Hi Garmin users,

I have a problem with the sync of the body battery with the use of multiple devices.

During the night I wear my Vivosmart 4 for sleep tracking, during the day I wear my Fenix 6X for daily tracking.

During the night my body battery charges to 100% but in the morning when I switch to my watch it does not sync the body battery.

This way I always start the day with a more empty body battery.

Other things like Heart rate or daily steps sync perfectly between the devices.

I set my Vivosmart 4 as main tracker because of the sleep tracking with Pulse Ox.

If I set my watch as main tracker my sleep is not recorded correctly.

Already called the support but the answer was not clear, in other words they could not explain why this is not possible.

Wearing two devices during the day is not an option for me and a bit silly.

Are there more people with this problem? Is there a solution? How do I get this problem under the attention of the Garmin software developers?

Hope to hear from you guys.

In the mean time enjoying Garmin every day!

  • Multiple devices might report it but it will mess up the values since not one device got all the values.

An Edge can't track any stress, body battery etc. You must wear the activity tracker (watch) during the ride to measure those values.

  • Similar situation here, so far no work around. I have a vivoactive 4 and a Fenix 6. I prefer the vivoactive when I'm at work or sleeping. I prefer the fenix for weekend bike rides and other outdoor activities.

Syncing between the two devices for some things (like water, steps, active minutes) seems to work OK. But the body battery is one that doesn't seem to account for using the "non-primary" device.

This would be a great help, and might even get me to buy more Garmin smart watches :)

  • After over three years, problem still not solved. I sleep with the Forerunner 745 on and use it often in the day, but switch to a Fēnix 7x for certain training. The lack of synchronization with Body Battery after this many years is unfortunate. These are the sorts of reasons people use Apple Watches (Apple in general). I can switch between three different Apple Watches and everything lines up right and “just works.” I also don’t need to be a “beta tester” for them on buggy products. Garmin has great products, but they rush them to market and lean too heavily on their power users to help iron bugs out and they still often aren’t. Would be great if Garmin would get around to this. If I was a tech lead it would drive me nuts to not have these sorts of things smoothed out. I blame the upper management that ultimately is responsible.

  • Same problem. Bought epix 2 and venu 2 for sleep and day to day, so quite an expensive investment for an awful experience and a company that would rather just focus on sales and not also listen to customer feedback

  • This was 3 years ago, why can't Garmin fix this, as think there is many of us would like a Slimer comfortable watch for sleep then the clunkier one during the day. I.e why can't the preferred activity tracker be set seperatly to the preferred sleep tracker?

  • What I can't quite get is a watch that supposedly knows my hrv, blood ox etc can't work out that it's on my wrist Wink
