Garmin, Please fix your Garmin Connect App!

Whenever I record an indoor activity (Non GPS use), my watch shows the right start time but for some reason Garmin Connect app on my phone and the web show a different time zone! It's really frustrating. This is a $600 watch and should not have this problem!

I have the time zone set to Pacific under preferences, but whenever i review my history on either the phone app or the web, it shows Mountain time! Which is always 1 hour ahead. For example, I record a strength workout at 7pm..watch shows 7, but Garmin Connect on my phone and web show 8pm.

I've talked to a Garmin representative and he also noticed the problem i explained above after running a few tests and agreed to give me a replacement watch. Well, after waiting a week and paid $218 collateral, this new watch is also experiencing this issue. I've browsed other forums and noticed I'm not the only one experiencing this wrong time zone issue.

I love this watch but having to adjust my time after every single indoor activity is becoming a real nuisance. I'm starting to have buyers remorse.

Anyone else is having this issue? have you reached out to Garmin? Garmin giving us a replacement watch isnt going to fix the core problem. It's a waste of time and money.

Garmin, please have someone monitor this forum and escalate this issue to the software team. This is ridiculous.

I've included some screenshots for references.

  • Three suggestions:

    1. Make sure all the elements of your time settings are consistent. Start with Connect Web for both the user and the device; your smartphone and app.
    2. Make sure your watch is set automatically and not manually.
      1. Web overrides the app, which overrides the device.
    3. I'm in the Eastern time zone and because of different Daylight Savings issues in different regions, there are more than one Eastern time zone. It might be the same situation for Pacific time.

There have been instances where the time zones have been incorrect in firmware but not for Pacific time that I can recall.

Every settling has been checked, both by me and a garmin representative so I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do. I've factory reset it multiple times on both watches but didnt seem to resolve the problem.

There's only 1 Pacific zone time and the watch has been set to automatic and synced with GPS. I think its garmin connect that's having an issue.
