How can I copy an activity from the Garmin Connect account of a running mate to my own account?

I can view the activity detail in my mate's connect account using a link emailed to me but cannot find a way to copy if from that account into my own. Stupid me left my Garmin watch at home today! We ran as a group so the copy would be perfect.

why not just make it a manual activity ?

so you remember not to forget again Slight smile

    or

export it as a course and use online tools to make it an activity

    happy & safe sporting

  • Ask your friend to export the activity using the "Export original" option, then import the exported fit file into your account. I've done it several times, with success.

Many thanks both of you. I have found how to add it manually but cannot find a way to export either as a course or as original, only as a CSV which only exports the last 25 run summaries, not the activity file.

  • In Garmin Connect open the activity by clicking on its name, then click the tiny cog icon in the upper right corner. There you'll find "Export original".

It is rather hidden or I am rather stupid. Either way, very many thanks indeed for taking the time to respond and I have now successfully followed your instructions. Kind regards, David

  • Just to make one thing clear:

If you're looking at your friend's activity, then you don't see the export option because you're not the owner. Only the owner can make the export. Ask your friend to export it for you.

Yes, understood thanks. I tried it on mine before contacting my mate who had been unable to help until now.
