I always used to create custom Cycling workouts using Custom Power values in Garmin Connect. Doing the workout would then give you alerts when you were in or out of your custom power zone. Those who are familiar with the default workout screen will know that it is split into three segments - the main one showing the step or lap of the workout you are doing ie Warm up 15:00, and the bottom left, the Intensity Target - either HR, Speed, or Power. There is also a small description -ie 100-120rpm, 25-35kph or 205-220W so you know at a glance what you should be doing.
Mid April 2019 (yes, I followed the protocol and this is how long I have been back and forth with our local distributor - still with no feedback) something changed in Garmin Connect - a custom power workput defaulted to a to a workout screen showing speed in the bottom left as your intensity target. Obviosly then the Power alerts stop. Changing the Intensity target to HR or Cadence in a workout works perfectly, but for Power it does not. It's almost as if you cannot build a Cycling workout using Power values anymore.
After much experimenting, I have discovered that if I build the workout in Training Peaks and copy and paste it in the workouts folder, everything works as before, but if I build the exact workout in Garmin Connect it doesn't.
Works perfectly with custom Cadence, Speed, HR Zones but just not Power - Zones or Custom zones. It's not my 920XT as the problem also presents itself on my wife's 920XT. My local Distrubutor cannot assist apart from asking if I have done a Factory Reset (many times!) and telling me there is no record of this problem anywhere in the Garmin universe. The pictures below are self explanatory - remember these are the DEFAULT workout screens so cannot be changed using the Data Screen Layout settings - something which my Local Distributor also fails to understand
I can't believe I am am the only one who has experienced this issue? Anyone else?
