Cycling badges not awarded for Gravel?

I noticed I am not getting any of the "cycling" related badges for rides tagged as "Gravel", I recently did a double century with over 6000ft of climbing and didn't receive a single century badge or the climbing award for 2000ft+. Is this expected? are the cycling badges only good for "road" cycling?

If a badge should be awarded, but is not visible, then rename activity or change cycling type (then you can change it back).

Badges are also for other cycling types, like on gravel.
