Don't think that you can do that through the Garmin Connect application, but you could connect your iPhone to a heart rate monitor - no need for Garmin software at all then.

While I'm not using an iPhone, I use the Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) app on my Android device. Within GCM on the "My Day" tab, there is an entry for Heart Rate that displays the real-time reading from my FR645 as well as my resting rate and high rate for the day.

So perhaps that exists in the GCM app for iOS.
