Exercise List

Are we ever going to be allowed to customize the list of strength exercises? I’m tired of using items from the list that only kinda fit. There are many basic exercises that are missing, e.g.,

  • Chest Press,
  • Bridge,
  • Bird Dog,
  • Hip Adduction & Abduction,
  • Clamshell just to name a few.

Please let us add our own if you’re not going to expand the list, Garmin!

    BTW 2: not sure if already mentioned but the bird dog is in there as the kneeling superman.

  • I find it's just figuring out what they chose to call it. Bird Dog appears to be "Opposite Arm and Leg Balance"

  • Yeah it's ridiculous! Joy I can't wait for the new Google Watch to come out so I can switch back to Android Wear for some proper support of a serious company that doesn't get hacked and actually adds features Grin

  • I would like to have the nintendo ringfit excersises in. Even if autodetect is not working, then i can edit the list in the activity with the correct names, and then the muscle groups used will be correct.  Example of these are ring press,front press,knee lift, jogging in place etc

  • This is an old post, but if anyone else comes here looking for how they can put the bird dog exercise into their Garmin workout..."Back Extension with Opposite Arm and Leg Reach" seems to be how they list it...because EVERYONE calls it that. Rolling eyes

  • Yeah it is a bit of a puzzle most of the time, because there isn't a set naming standard really.

    Bridge... or Glute Bridge... or Hip Thrusts.... or on GARMIN: HIP RAISE !!!!   

    adduction and abduction are sorta on there I have used them before, have to be set as banded , cable, standing or weighted however, they don't have a simple generic.

    Clamshells... have to put 'banded clamshells'  

    I wish you could remove or rename them!  Cuz there are a million entries that come up when I just want calf raise, etc!!! wtf I don't need 37 different entries for Push-up !!!!

    I got a Venu 2 a few days ago specifically to more easily log my strength training, but I've noticed there are quite a few very common ones missing from the library, for example:

    The big one, there is NO chest press. I find it incredible that there is banded chest press but no chest press, nevermind its varieties and other more obscure exercises like the Pallof press

    Weighted single leg curl

    Smith machine squat

    Leg press varieties

    I am trying to log my training and these are exercises commonly performed in most gyms and they are missing. This is very disappointing.

    Would it be impossible to at least add the option to create custom exercises?
