permanent live tracking page instead of getting the link after the activity started

It would be nice if every user would have an URL that always stays the same where the new active live-tracking session is listed.

At the moment GC only offers automatic sharing via Twitter and Mail, none of the young people use mail anymore, and Twitter isn't that big here, and I wouldn't create an account just to share an occasional live track.

Whats not really smart is having to start the activity, waiting for the live tracking to trigger, receiving the email I sent my self via GC to get the link and then post it in my Whatsapp status. And all this while I'm actually trying to get a smooth start into my activity.

Instead I could just post something like "hey, starting in a few minutes, links will show up here https://connect.garmin.com/livetrack/username"

Would be so much more convenient.
• They haven't touch it for years, this is the reason why it is so ancient looking, doesn't work for many users and nobody from Garmin cares... Probably the easiest way is switch to Wahoo https://blog.wahoofitness.com/set-live-track-elemnt/ - they have a nice webpage and three sharing options: Share Until End of Day, Share Forever and Share Automatically. This is exactly what we need have on Garmin devices + add it as response to messages. But I fully understand - I like Garmin so much, but they should be more innovative.
  • Now (year 2021) you can do this with setting up the Garmin Explore app and Explore website so that your tracks are shown on your Mapshare page, and there are also some map feed choices I've seen. It's setup for use with the InReach, but also works without, using watch to phone app in cell data service range.

  • I've since learned that Watch to Explore to MapShare is not live tracking, it transfers the track to desktop browser MapShare after the activity is completed, and doesn't show up in mobile browser MapShare page.

  • Is this still not possible?
