Garmin Connect sync to "Google Fit" and "Samsung Health"

Garmin Connect is a great sports tracking app. But a lot of people also want other features that are more health oriented. And this is where sending data from Garmin Connect to a service like Samsung Health or Google Fit comes in place.

I'm really interesting in syncing my garmin account with googlefit. Healthsync sounds like the best 3rd party app currently on the market. However, I have some privacy concerns letting a third party developer access confidential data, thay say, a health insurer may missuse. I've done some beep diving and the app seems trusty worthy so far. But I assume the app developer is not held to the same corporate responsibilities as garmin and Google regarding user privacy. Are there any guarantees our data is safe, aside from the developers own privacy statement?

Still no support for Google Health?

You cannot use this app. Samsung health will let you connect everything except steps. So if you buy one of these amazing Garmin sports watches samsung has blocked the import of the steps for obvious reasons. Current as of October 2023

The healthsync app doesn't have any of your information at all and states so on their app in large letters before you even start

I changed phones which was a chance to revisit this. I've used HealthSync for years, and it works well. Now there is a Google App called Health Connect, which seems like it is supposed to be an interchange for health apps, similar to Health Sync except that I don't see any evidence that Garmin Connect shares with Health Connect. I have setup HealthSync again. It supports Google's Health Connect so I am currently sending from Garmin Connect to Health Sync to Health Connect which is supposed to send to Google Fit. But if that doesn't work I'll just reenable the Health Sync to Google Fit connection.

I wish they would provide linkage with Google Fit for ‘Android users’ just as they link with Apple Health.

With Garmin, wish in one hand and you-know-what in the other and see which one gets filled first.

Worse thing is. Samsung health has bodgy steps counting and they haven't pulled that up. I mean do the maths. It's impossible to do the step counts thise people are claiming yet garmin holds you accountable. I know who I prefer
