Garmin Connect sync to "Google Fit" and "Samsung Health"

Garmin Connect is a great sports tracking app. But a lot of people also want other features that are more health oriented. And this is where sending data from Garmin Connect to a service like Samsung Health or Google Fit comes in place.

i understand the desire to have one's body weight spread across the four corners of the internet. I think maybe you don't understand that there's more to it than just including the ability to natively sync health stats. Third party integrations take time, money and other resources to setup and maintain. Garmin is a flea compared to Google in terms of financial, technology and human resources.

Garmin isn't any different than any other company that sells a range of products that work with their platform. They want you to buy their products. Apple wants you to have an iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV and an Apple computer.

Want your body weight in Garmin Connect, buy their smart scale, otherwise type three numbers into your phone.

This is not a garmin problem. This is a phone software problem. Samsung for example syncs with HRM PRO but not with the watch because they have their watches to promote.

Strava is an app that has data from both watch and HRM pro. So forget about samsung health or google fit and just download a third party app.

The Health Sync app doesn't connect to Garmin Connect although it says the connection status is OK, so it didn't work for me.

I can't believe it's been 3 years and they still did not implement such a basic feature.

Using a third party tool is not a solution. Garmin should add it in their app just as they integrated with strava and my fitness pal.

Agreed. This shows a complete lack of concern of Garmin for their user base. Not listening to the user base will be the eventual downfall of Garmin.

It is not a Garmin problem. It is a Samsung problem who does not want to add third party watches to their eco system.

In samsung health you can connect to garmin chest strap and not watch.

Meaning they want you to buy their watches.

Thank you for Health Sync recommendation. It's too bad Garmin removed the ability to sync step counts. Everything else works though it seems.

dude your response ONLY pertains to Samsung Health, that's not the issue. Garmin doesn't allow connecting to ANY 3rd party health platforms including the significantly more important and open platforms like Google Fit, which can serve as an intermediary for ALL OTHER PLATFORMS. Please do more research before commenting.
