I would like connect to connect with Google fit app
I've been using Health Sync for a few days to sync activity captured with my 735XT through Garmin Connect to Google Fit. Seems to work pretty good, but would be better if Garmin would make their app…
Yes, but the question is: Why Garmin force us to use an external app, instead of sinc directly with Google Fit?
Probably because Google is afraid how good is Garmin and Garmin is afraid how good Google WILL be if they trust each other. Professional jealousy.
No just running data
The Health Sync app does unfortunately not sync steps, the main activity that I wished to synchronise with Samsung Health. It otherwise looks like a great app for syncing the rest of the activities and statistics.
Hi, is this not fixed yet? Is Garmin paying attention to their users at all? I have multiple GARMIN devices, but if this is not fixed I am going to migrate to other open and respecting the user ecosystem..
Apparently the Samsung Health app prevents any third party app from importing steps. All other activities should be fine to be imported. So, it seems to be a restriction from Samsung and not from Garmin.
Exactly. Samsung is doing this on purpose so that people buy their wearables.
Honestly samsung health is no longer interesting. Garmin dashboard is so much better
Absolutely. I wanted to compete in steps with my non-Garmin friends who has Samsung Health. So now, I have to find another way for our steps to be measured against each other.
Just to clarify, I am using Iphone, looks like I have solved the issue by allowing the health app to read from strava. Not sure whiy direct connection did not work. So to sync to google fit I think it is going from garmin -> strava -> apple health -> google fit. Not sure why it could not be direct from Garmin connect to Google fit.
