Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    fit file restore

I have a fit file that i restored off of a program. I deleted my ride before I uploaded it to Connect. Used the program to find the deleted file and now I can't get it to upload manually to Connect. Any help would be appreciated.
  • corrupt fit files

    Hi,

most of your corrupted files can easily be fixed using the Fit File Repair Tool (http://fitfilerepairtool.info/).
You can download a trial version and check if the tool is able to fix your corrupt file.
Please don't send me your corrupt files - I get more than 10 requests to fix files on some days. This takes too much of my time, so I stopped repairing files myself.
I focus on improving the Repair Tool and supporting the users of Repair Tool. I hope you understand this. I don't want to be unpolite, but 10 requests and more per day is too much to handle.

    Best regards
    Mathias

Can I ask for your help?

During a triathlon I accidentally pressed LAP during bike with my FENIX 3. So I had to start another Multisport all over, starting with second half of the bike till the end.

Could you combine and edit them back into multisport for Garmin upload?

    Hello Vince,

You need to attach your files to another post here and someone will try to fix them.
  • Help!!! Fenix 3 multisport split!!

    Expert(s) out there, help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During a triathlon I accidentally pressed LAP during bike with my FENIX 3 (which brings my bike to T2 by mistake). So I had to start another Multisport all over, starting with second half of the bike till the end.

    So it's like
    1) Swim - T1 - Bike (first part) - T2/Run (useless)
    2) Swim/T1 (useless) - Bike (second part) - Run

Specifically, would it be able to match my official time??
    Swim 42:01
    T1 7:47
    Cycle 3:03:52
    T2 5:44
    Run 1:55:05
    Total: 5:54:30

Could anyone help me?? This is my 70.3 race as an amateur this means a lot if I could have it fixed and upload to Garmin connect as Multisport correctly.

    Hello Vince,

Your official times are elapsed time, not moving time. For some reason GC shows moving time for Total Time and Cycling but elapsed time for all the rest??
If you click on each session in GC and scroll down to elapsed time you will see times that match within seconds of your official time. That was as close as I could get.
So....here ya go. A manufactured MultiSport using the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Empty file

    Today I did a 115km ride.
Everything worked beautifully on my ride and I had all data.
I got home, pressed stop and then reset and turned the Edge 800 off.

I connected to Express and it tells me that the file is corrupt.
I have checked "Activites" while on the Edge and it shows last activity as "Today 10:10, 115km...", but when I enter it all data fields are empty.
When the Garmin is connected I see the file as "2016-06-25-10-10-34.fit" with a size of 18kb, but if I open it in a text editor its empty and neither Strava or Connect approves it when I try to upload.

Can anybody help me with retrieving the file, I do see the info on the device(in the description of acitivity? (Shouldnt it be stores somewhere then)?

Your device is showing you the overall totals and averages. Sometimes it is called History but it does not mean that there is any stored track data. :(

FIT file needs repair, but cannot upload as attachment

I have a FIT file that I want to check can be repaired or not, but when I try to upload as attachment to this post (using .fit extension, or manually change to .txt or .csv), the upload fails. Is 444KB, so file size does not exceed the maximum allowed for uploads.

    Questions:
    1. Does anyone have idea what would cause the upload issue? Garmin Express gives "invalid file" message when I try to sync, so the file seems corrupt (hence the request for repair).
    2. If no way to upload would anyone be willing to receive via email? I understand if no takers here, just trying to debug this activity, was a big race for me, and I would really like to have the data to help prepare for races to come.
