Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member
Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi- I'm sorry to ask but do you think you could have a look at this file? It may be beyond repair, but I'm not good enough with software to work it out!

Many thanks if you do find time

    Hello Josh,

You sent an empty file that looks like it was run thru the FitFileRepairTool.
You need to send the original file that came from your 800.

I did a 237km ride today and the data is all messed up. I would love it if someone could check it out for me please?
There is a bunch of data my coach wants to see.
  • @MINER1098:

This is what I could recover with the Fit File Repair Tool: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/91455145/2013-07-03-06-02-34-fixed.fit

I don't know if it possible to rescue more than this, your file contains several gaps where the recording stopped.

Thank you. That's basically what I had in the first place from the garmin. I'm using a garmin 510. do you have any idea what I did wrong? The gps worked fine all the way through the ride displaying speed and power flawlessly. I naturally assumed it was recording everything.

Also....convert the History to a Course with the 510 and then convert that course back into an activity with GPSies or some other software.
    Owners manual page 14.
You might get your entire ride back.

Did you explore the Garmin drive to see if there are any DAT files inside a Laps folder?
  • Is there a MAC solution for repairing .fit files?

Hi. I am having similar problems following a 127km ride and the whole files seems to have disappeared!

I can't even attach as it's saying it 0kb! Any ideas welcome!

Look for a folder on the device that has DAT files.

Make a Course from History on the device and post it here. Instructions will be in the owners manual.
