Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

gunther67! - I am not 100% sure what the error as FFRT didn't report anything so it may have subtlety fixed something when it was importing the file.

    cheers

  • gunther67! - I also see the same behavior with random Zwift workouts. I can go for a couple weeks with no issues (syncs to Training Peaks, Strava, and GC no problem), but then I have a random one that won't sync to GC. As is the case today. Hoping to get some help with the attached file. Thanks in advance!

I'd make an attempt to fix it myself, but FFRT only runs on Windows and I only have a Mac...

Hi, I've also just experienced my first auto-upload fail from Zwift. I downloaded the FIT file from Zwift (which incidentally works just fine in Strava) but get the usual error uploading to Garmin.
Garmin support were of no help at all and blamed 'third party applications'. I've tried using the FFRT tool but the resultant fixed file won't upload either.
Is anyone able to have a look and let me know if anything is wrong with the file? 2019-01-28-20-08-58.fit

Thank you sir! That worked just fine. So am I right in saying that the only way I can fix these files is by paying to buy the full version of FFRT? Hopefully it'll be a very infrequent thing but if it's going to happen with any regularity I'd like to be able to fix the files without bothering anyone else.

So my file uploaded just fine, but around 2.7 miles in it added 0.7 miles of distance in 1 second. I downloaded the .fit file to look at in GPXSee and it looks fine there. I deleted the activity and reuploaded the .fit to Garmin Connect and it still had me going 0.7mi in 1s.
