Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi guys. I had the same problem as ralphio with the attached file. Would anyone be able to have a look at it? I also received an error message with Garmin Express saying multiple files were invalid, however this was the first one that I've had a problem with. Any ideas?

    hi Patrick,

Your file doesn't contain a single data record and consists of the header data only. There is nothing I can do to assist without having any data to manipulate.

    cheers

Anyone can help with the file?
  • AQ30L,

You only need to post in one forum for help with a file Mike is real good at making it through all of them, me I only make the rounds occasionally but sometimes we both fix the same file when they are posted multiple times.

    Thanks Bart

    Hi Mike,

I am a cycling enthusiast from China. I encountered some problems during my cycling last month and would like to ask for advice.

I passed some canyons during the riding process, so the GPS signal was shifted. I found out on the Internet whether there is a way to fix it. Finally I found four tools, basecamp, Fit File Repair Tool, www.fitfiletools.com , and garmin.kiesewetter.nl.

I have tried these tools, and fitfiletools can only do simple stitching and cropping, and I can't do GPS signal correction. Kiesewetter.nl I have been experiencing page prompt errors and cannot convert files. Fit File Repair Tool is a very professional tool, but I can't intuitively see the track on the map, because I can't judge whether I can correct the GPS, so I didn't buy a license.

Basecamp is very easy to use, can drag the track on the map, but after correcting the activity to export the GPX file, and then importing strava, strava can not recognize the elevation information of GPX, so it matches the altitude information of GPS, causing a large altitude error.

I also consulted Strava's help documentation. When Strava can't match the device information contained in the uploaded file in its own database, it can only match the GPS altitude information.

So I would like to ask, how to deal with similar problems in the future, is there any other tools that can be used? Or, how to use basecamp or Fit File Repair Tool to solve similar problems.

The following fit file is my original file, the GPX file was fixed, but because of the limitations of the forum's attachments, I can't upload it.
The device I use is GARMIN EDGE 520 PLUS

Sincerely thank you for your reply.

Hey all - I've tried repairing the attached file via Kiesewetter's tool but it returns the following error:

Upload status: The file could not be uploaded. The following error occured: Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.

Any suggestions on how to repair the file?

    Thanks a lot,

    Daan

Hi all. Garmin Express and Strava have rejected my ride .fit file as “malformed”. I would be very, very grateful if someone who has the relevant tools and expertise could please try to repair it for me!

Kind regards and many thanks in advance
    Julian

    hi Will,

All repairs I do are done with the Fit File Repair Tool. In a case like yours, I would replot the course at https://www.gpsies.com/ and then export it as a .gpx file. I can then import that .gpx file into the .fit file via FFRT. The elevation may not be prefect but it will be a lot better than what it was.

Give this file a try which is the combination of the .gpx file and .fit file that was in your post.

    cheers
    Mike
