Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member
Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    hi HectorWW,

The file is empty - there isn't a single data record in it.

    cheers

    Hi Mike

Thanks for your reply. So it's been completely wiped? When I open the run data through "History" on the watch itself, the totals are all there (time, distance, avg pace). However, when I scroll to the next screen all the lap information has disappeared. Is this irrecoverable?
  • andijuen,

Give this file a try :)

    hi HectorWW,

The History and the .fit file are two different things - if the data isn't in the .fit file then there is nothing I can do as there is no data to work with. Datezz wrote a good summary of what you are seeing but I can't find it at the moment.

    cheers

    Hi Guys and Gals

Would anyone mind looking at the attached files for me please? For some reason (which I cannot fathom) my Fenix 2 won't sync on bluetooth at the moment. Also, when I try to import them manually on Garmin Connect via my PC, it spits a rather nondescript error message at me (see attached).

Because my PC is old and rubbish (running Windows Vista - aarrgh!!) Garmin Express doesn't work anymore and my PC is below minimum spec to even download a new copy...

I'm suspecting a bit of file corruption in the fit files, but don't know for sure.

    Any help gratefully received!

    hi Andy,

The Trail Run file contains no GPS records and contains approx 3 mins worth of data - here is the file.

The 2nd Run file is 100% corrupt - there is nothing I can do with it.

How many completed and uploaded activities do you have on your device? If there is any more than a months worth then it could be time to archive a lot of them into a folder on your computer.

    cheers
    Mike
