Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Editing an activity

Can anyone tell me how to edit this file so that it ends where it should at 13.1 miles. The stop button didn't work so my Garmin kept on recording my "activity". Or perhaps a very kind person can do it for me as I am technologically inept.
    Many thanks

    hi Tony,

I need a copy of the .fit file to be able to trim off what isn't required. Either attach it in a reply or upload it to Dropbox and then share the link in a reply to this message.

To get a copy of the .fit file from Garmin Connect, if it isn't still on your device, open the activity in Garmin Connect and click on the 'cog' looking icon near the top right hand side of the screen - click on 'export original'.

    cheers

    Ride only partially uploading

    Hi,

My garmin 520 says my ride was 70kms long, which is true, but only 37kms of it is uploading to Strava. I tried fixing it with the garmin kiesewetter site, but it's error-ing out. Please help, the first half of the ride was the hammerfest and I was so excited to see my PBs, but only the second half of the ride is uploading, the easy recovery home. I attached the .fit file, hopefully someone can fix the problem.

    Hi Anna,

There is a gap of 2hrs30mins where your Garmin was powered down (from 14:42 until 17:05) as can be seen in this pic.

I have split your .fit file into two files. This file contains the first 14mins50secs of data and this file contains the remaining 1hr13mins of data.

    cheers

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for looking into it. The thing is, I didn't power down the Garmin, it continued working, but it did at one point after we were done with the climb, powered down on its own even though the battery level was fine (I charged it before I left). I didn't think much of it and immediately turned it back on. I can see the big data gap when I upload the activity to Training Peaks, i and even though it displays my maximums, nowhere in what actually recorded can I find those numbers. Think I just need a new Garmin at this point, this isn't the first time I'm losing data, other times just weren't as important. Once again, thanks for looking into it!

I rode 210km today and tried to upload my file to Garmin Connect, but it gave an error: 'invalid file'. Can someone help me out?
