Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Hello John,

There is no reason given for the goofy coordinates but usually it is caused by not having a solid satellite lock before hitting Start. Then to make things worse when the 735 got satellite lock it only recorded the Long....the Lat stayed blank and the elevations went up and down 10-15 meters every second. I removed the coordinates and elevations making the file into an indoor track run. All the graphs look good but there is no map without coords.

Thanks Don, that's really helpful. Really strange that it now says I did the workout on 24th Jan, whereas in fact it was 26th...with the corrupted file saying it was a 48hr workout! Odd. Anyway, how it is now is perfectly fine for what I need. Many thanks indeed.

  • There was nothing obvious wrong with the file and whatever it was, FFRT basically resolved it without any input from me.

    cheers

that's weird...Garmin Express kept telling me there's an error with the file...Sync was completed but it doesn't show up in GC
  • Hello Kolya,

Your Fenix had trouble recording distances and I think that is what corrupted your file. I had to recalc everything based on the recorded coordinates. Also the laps did not seem to make any sense. Parts of each lift ride would be included in the downhill runs. The basic "fixed" file has your original laps.
I made a 2nd file "NewLaps" with each lift ride as a lap (1) and then the downhill run as the next lap (2) etc.
The data stops up top when you entered the Lodge.
Both files will load into Connect so you can compare and keep what you want.

    Corrupted file

    Hi!

    My file is corrupted.
My battery went down during activity.
I wrote to garmin service and the answered:
"we glad to help" and in next line "unfortunatelly we can not help" - pity and so sad.
    Can you help me, please?

    Best regards,
    MZ

    Corrupt FIT file

    Hi,

I also have the same issue. The trial version of Fit File Repair Tool fixes it, although I lose GPS and heart rate for the second half of the ride. Can anyone with a license repair this for me?
