Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Another corrupt fit file

    Hi

Please could someone use their magic on this file. It is the only marathon I have ever run. I have tried exporting it as TCX but that came up with no content. When I export the CSV data to Excel it is also corrupted. I fear it may be beyond recovery but it would be nice to have it!

    Thanks

    Hello acraggs,

The FFRT repaired your file with no errors or warnings. Whatever was corrupt was very minor.
All the data and laps look good.
Here ya go....fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Hello simon,

Very strange....the FFRT loaded the file with no errors or warnings. All the data looked perfect. I found nothing wrong until I looked at the date.
It shows that you rode on 4-11-2019
Usually that means you started without a good satellite lock and some of the coords and times and elevations will be jacked up etc.
But not so in this file and it was an easy fix to change the dates to 3-24-2016.

Is it possible to save this? It tells me "Time information is missing from file". I'm fairly certain the timestamp that's missing is probably at the end of the ride, which ended approx 2.55pm, if that might help.

I wouldn't have pursued this as hard but this ride has a total distance and ascent PR on it and I would very much like to retrieve the data, I would be very, very grateful if anyone could assist in this.

    Thank you

    Hello YowKeat,

    Sorry....that file is totally corrupt.
There are no coords at all. Dates go from 1989 thru 2017. Elevations -198m up to 12600m. Max power at 2471 watts. Max speed at 235km/h. Total distance 42948km.
Definitely some PR's there as well as some time travel :D
Needless to say I did not repair the file.

I'm really hoping someone can help me out here!

My Garmin (Edge 500, owned since 2011 with barely a missed beat) had a bit of a senior moment today and failed to save a race file. I recovered the file using EaseUS but now the recovered file can't be imported to GC, strava or trainingpeaks. It's weird because the name of the file appears to be correct as does the .fit but it's obviously not being recognised as a FIT file.

It's quite disappointing as I thought I rode quite well today and could do with the data. I've attached the recovered file in case anyone can manage to sort it out.

I apologise if this has been covered upthread but it's a big old thread now!

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Madasahattersley,

That file is totally corrupt. There is nothing to fix :(
I have tried to repair over 20 of these "recovered files" and not succeeded one time.
Did you explore the 500 drive, Activities folder for any FIT files?
