Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Hi all,

I seem to have a problem with this Garmin Swim activity where on export or when it sent to Strava it has the wrong start time. It says a date in 1989, but it should have a start date of this this morning October 5th at 7:36am. Can someone fix this .fit file for me? I tried to fix it with the .tcx file, but the saved file would not upload to Strava manually. Thanks.

    Hello Gogoglets,

I have not done very many Swim files so let me know if it looks incorrect and what it should be and I will fix it. :)

Here ya go....fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

I forgot to ask what time zone you are in??? Duuhh!

Let me know and I will do the time again unless you are in PDT (-8) :)

  • Corrupt File dead end

    Hello All,
Got an 810 last week, 1st major ride resulted in a corrupt file. I've tried all the options on garmin.kiesewetter.nl. I tried uploading the fixed file to connect and nothing happens. I've attached the original and fixed files, any help much appreciated.

    Hello Polygraf,

The Tool loaded and fixed your file with no warnings or problems.

The corruption was very minor with no loss of data since the track returns to where you started at Tarrytown Lake.

  • Hello Michael,

I had to mix and match some pieces from other runners that fit the existing trail better in your corrupt areas. I also had to delete about 87% of your trackpoints to get the mileage down from 76 to 67kms. I used a filter to reduce the points down from 46600 to 6186 and still kept your fitness data. 1 sec recording is not a good idea when reception is poor (weather, trees, canyons, etc) because the data jumps back and forth making the track look like a saw blade and exaggerating the distance. Check the track and your data. It all looks good to me except the bogus "Time of 6:58:13" in Connect. The elapsed and moving times are good so I do not know where that 6:58 came from??

The elapsed time is 20min less. Part of that is because you had 10min after the finish that I deleted and then the rest is from me fixing the distance.

This file will load along with your original in Connect so you can compare.

Thanks a lot Don! I'm going to import it now and check it out.

    I appreciate your efforts!

  • Help with file at your convenience

    Hi Don,

I did a nice 100 mile ride today, and in my fatigued, sweaty, 1 contact lens in 1 out state rush to see my son's soccer game some how deleted it. I recovered the file using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, but it won't upload to Strave correctly.

Do you think this is a file you might be able to do something with?

    Thank you, sir.

    Hello Jim,

That file is so corrupt that the Tool will not even load it....sorry :(

In the past I have never been able to repair a file that has been recovered by one of those recovery tools.
