Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Hello Scott,

The coordinates were all good. The distance is 29km. The total time is 5h05m.

Apparently the signal losses screwed up the recording of the speeds and distances on the 810 but the actual recorded data is okay.

So....here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Thanks a lot

The distance is now Ok on GC, but why it is still displayed on curves (Elevation, speed and temperature) only the data for 2H49.

    Hello Scott,

The FFRT shows nice steady speeds the whole 5 hours with overall average speed of 6km/h.

Good old broken down out of date orphaned MapSource plots your track with nice even speeds over 5 hours time with average speed of 6 km/h.

Because of the loss of satellites there are straight lines in your track but the speeds on those straight sections show that you were still moving but obviously Connect is having a problem.
Seems like the more they improve that software the worse it gets.

There is nothing wrong with your fixed track. The problem is what Connect does with it.

Effectively, when i look at the track on Basecamp, i can see the 1590 points.
The data seem correct and there are straight lines.
I thought there was something wrong in the fit file. As you said, there is something to do in Connect...Probably in the method of duration calculation.

Hi.. any chance someone could take a look at a file for me? I've tried to use the Garmin Online Fit Repair Tool with no luck. After my run I went to hold the lap button to store my run and the stupid thing started a boot loop on me (Garmin FR610). Now the watch doesn't show any data for the run but I have a nice looking file I was able to find on the computer.. hoping someone can figure out what is wrong with it as Garmin will not upload it manually.

Thanks in advance for any help,
    Sara

    Hello Sara,

Whatever was wrong with your file was minor.
There are only 3 miles of data and the track stops where you started so maybe you did not lose any data.

Here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

Thank you so very much. I only ran 3 Miles - still early in my training. My watch thinks it's funny to get into a boot loop and just start restarting during my runs, I thought I had isolates the problem but apparently not! Ugh!

    Hello Sara,

I do not have a 610 so this is just a guess.

I have a 310XT and at the end of a run I used to hit Lap and then Stop. Sometimes that screwed up my 310 because it takes a few seconds for the device to save the data as a lap and it did not like having the Stop button pressed at the same time. When I waited a few seconds to hit Stop then I would get another tiny 4-5 second Lap.

So....I started hitting Stop first and if I am finished I just Reset (3-2-1 count) and turn Off. No Lap press is necessary.

If I want a Lap there and plan to Start again after a break or whatever, I hit Stop first and then Lap and my 310 does not screw anything up doing it that way. :)

    Hi Don,

I generally do not hit the lap button at the end of my run, just hit stop (after hitting stop you have to hold the lap button for 3 seconds to get it to reset).
I have had multiple problems with this 610 just going into boot loops during my run and (think) I have pinned it down to using auto lap so now I manually press lap after each mile. It would just start restarting constantly at mile 2, I would lose all my data and I couldn't get it to stop restarting until I plugged it into a power source!

This particular run I needed fixed I did not immediately (within the minute after I was done) reset like I normally do so I'm hoping I can chalk it up to that being the issue.. so frustrating! I love the darn thing when it works right!

    Hello Leonard,

Attach a copy of your file to another post here and someone will try to fix it.
