Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member
Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

hi I've just had this file say it has an error? has any one got time to check it out for me?
it only came up with 11 of the 23km i did today?
    thanks

Yes, that is what the Fit File Repair Tool gets also.
At 11.4 km the file stops abruptly with you zipping along at 21 km/h.

    Hello Sunny,

This file is very small. There are only 48 trackpoints with huge gaps in the data.
I did not repair the file but I have attached a folder with 3 excel-type tables from the Fit File Repair Tool.
2 tables, First Half and Last Half, show all 48 trackpoints with time, distance, etc.
1 file, Event Log, shows all the button presses with their times.

You will see where the STOP did stop the recording but the START a few seconds later did not start the recording again.
The button press times do not match the trackpoint times very well so something really messed up the recording of your data.

    Hello,

I just got a Forerunner 620 and got an "Internal Server Error" when I tried to upload my activity. I think it may be a corrupt fit file. Can someone please help? File attached.

    Thank you.

    Hello HTRAN,

Here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.
There are 3 laps, all exactly 1 km. The 4th lap is only 0.85km and there is no more data.

    Sorry Billy,

I tried 2 different versions of the Fit File Repair Tool and got the same answer both times.
ZERO. Not a single trackpoint in all that huge file could be recovered.

How did you recover the file in the first place? The recovery process might be part of the problem?
