Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  • Any chance of getting a fix for the corrupt attached fit file? It was nice easy ride save for a couple of hard intervals that I really water to see the data for. Of course, the file is corrupt. I think I'll give another try at snagging the repair tool.

Here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.
Looks like your best effort began at 1h01m15s after you started.
  • Don,

Thanks a ton. Glad I was able to see the data as I did have a power PR in there. I'm wondering if my improper shutdown of the 500 was the corruption cause? I read on the forum that it is safest to reset after stopping an activity in order to force save before powering down.

I downloaded and installed the Fit Repair Tool trail and started playing with it a bit. Should probably just but the license.

    Anyhow, thanks again!

  • Thanks for your efforts, will do a reset as advised. At least this will be encouragement to run it again!

I rode an 8 hour mountain bike race yesterday (longest ever!) only to find the file would not upload like others in this thread. I've never had this happen and read about deleting other files and doing a reset, but Im hoping to salvage this one file to upload and analyze before doing that. Any help would be appreciated!

  • FitFile Help (from a Public Library computer)

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't have a computer and use a public library computer (thank goodness!) but cannot download the FitFile system. I know this is a big ask but if any help is greatly appreciated! Happy trails!

    Hello Jo,

Only 1 file had a usable track in it and it is missing data at the start and finish and is only 2.6 miles long.
I fixed that file with the Fit File Repair Tool.
  • Would someone be so kind as to take a look at this file for me please? I'm on a mac, so it seems I can't use the fix tool mentioned. Thanks in advance.

Here ya go. Fixed with the FFRT.
Very little usable data, 1m48s, then abruptly stops with you moving at 10mph.
  • Don,

Thank you so much for the help. The Garmin 110 kept the big data (time/distance/avg pace) so I was able to manually load that into my records. I genuinely appreciate your help on this, I love the support of this community.

As an aside to everyone- given this is a known 'issue' with Garmins, why doesn't Garmin support Fit File Repair or a similar service within their umbrella? This seems to be a relatively simple fix to, clearly, an ongoing issue.

Well, back to running, the only thing that keeps me sane!

    Best to everyone.

Boppjo, I agree with you on the Garmin support. If it led to someone developing a fix-it program you'd think they would do something given there are lots of similar threads. Ive only had one error so far but I suspect I will have more and will likely then purchase the fix and get ms access. In the meantime its great that Don and others are providing fixes on the board and kudos to Garmin for at least providing the forum.

Im hopeful that my file contains a lot of data given the size but I guess you never know. If anyone could take a look I would be indebted!
