Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member
Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  • Sorry this bit late answer, but I have been on vacation and I just wrote ticket to Garmin Support. I wrote it to Finnish Support, so let's see how they react it.

I have now started to watch more closely my activities HR-data and i just rode over 200km bike ride and there was at least two gaps on data. If you want to look, you may find the data here. I know that in those both gaps (about 3h 11min and 3h 21min) I was about 5 meters away my bike (watch) to take a photo.

I think that this shows pretty well that the actual HR-data doesn't download to watch after activity or it is somehow corrupted and watch doesn't accept it.

  • So I meant that I now contacted the Garmin support in here Finland, because you asked what support had said about my problem with HRM-Pro.

I also wanted to show with that my last activity that HRM-Pro data doesn't download to my watch after activity, because there is again those gaps in my hrdata.

  • so, the hr data from the strap is not automatically downloaded anymore

It starts automatically download after activity and first time it said that download didn't succeed and right after that with second try it said that download was ok. But it wasn't Laughing I assume if I start to explore my old activities it haven't never downloaded correctly the hrdata to my watch after activity. I think it does so when the connection between watch and HRM-Pro is lost during activity and this is exactly the situation where that downloaded information would be needed to fill those gaps.

were the gaps caused by moving away from the watch

Yep, I was about 5 meters away my bike (watch) to take a photos.

  • Have to try that and maybe same time change the new battery. I have once changed the battery and it wasn't so big deal.

  • Just had my first case of a corrupt file.. With a PB as well! I tried some of the online tools but to no avail.. Any kind soul who could help me out here?

Not sure how people want you to share the file, but I ziped it and put it on google drive. Could not figure out how to upload it here on the forum directly. Let me know if that is not kosher.

Edit: Seems to be issues with garmin at the moment, and not the file. Will try later then myself.

  • The file is fine. Tested on my own account. Know there is an issue at the moment for many users uploading their activities.

  • Ok, thanks alot! I will remove the link then and try and see if it works when Garmin has worked their magic on their backend Slight smile

I would prefer if you deleted the screenshot of my run, if that is not to much to ask. Thanks again for taking your time to respond to my issue Slight smile
