Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  • Well it must have been something subtle because it worked! Although it failed the first time I tried to upload it and I had to re-log on GC to make it work ... that makes me wonder if the manual fixes that I tried to do in the file would have worked as well if only I had re-logged.

Oh well, the important thing is that I can finally analyze what went wrong in this race, I very much appreciate your help Mike, you're a saver!

    Thanks again!

    fr310xt Fit file Repair help???

so I ran my first 100 miler and used my 310xt which I charged around mile 54 back to 95%, as expected the data continued to be recorded. When finished and reset/saved the device shows in it's history: Saturday 5:28:30AM, 31:15:04, 100.99mi, 18:33/mi, 10865cal, but aside from the summery, the details under 'view more' are just not there. I had to manually upload the FIT file to garmin connect and it shows: same start time, 21:46:45, 78.55mi, 16:38 min/mi, 0cal, 16,653ft elevation gain(which is pretty close to accurate, go figure). Looking at the splits in garmin connect for the activity the calories show up for the first 78 1 mile spits, then the last it shows--, and the total is zero. Also when I try to use the ANT upload through connect or express it takes an incredibly long time and shows 2 activities being synced: one from the date of my 100 miler, and a weight file from 12/30/1989??? So perhaps there are several things going on here. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. I'll include the fit file in this post(if I can figure out how) Thanks community in advance.

so I tired the advanced options to upload the fit file and it's showing a 1mb limit and my file is 1.5mb, any advice on this. feeling like I don't know how computers work:(

thanks for the drop box recommendation... inter webs confusing:p https://www.dropbox.com/s/j0ce53i4ehdn3du/6354750961000000005.fit?dl=0

I also found this from the Ant storage location, looks like a duplicate with a different name.

    hi Hartley92,

Fit File Repair Tool reported that your session ended abruptly as can be seen in this pic and that data records at the end of the recording are probably missing so your total distance may not be correct and in your case it most definitely isn't.

Having a quick read of the owners manual for your device, it states that the Forerunner can record approximately 20 hours of detailed tracklog data (when recording approximately 1 trackpoint every 4 seconds). Tracklog data includes your GPS position (if available) and accessory data such as heart rate data.

Looking at your file, and possibly because you weren't recording heart rate data, you have managed to record 24hrs14mins worth of data - 4 hours over the expected maximum despite using a 1 second recording rate.

So unfortunately your file only contains 24hrs14mins worth of data (79.98miles) before it ran out of memory.

Here is what I have been able to recover - file.

    cheers
    Mike
