Unable to export a TCX file from Garmin Connect and import without any modification.

Hi all,

I was trying to modify a course in Garmin by exporting the TCX file and modify it. After modifiy my file I was unable to upload the activity to Garmin.

I was thinking I was doing something wrong with my file.

So I do a simple test.

Exporting a course from Garmin Connect in a TCX file... and then importing that file without any modification. And it doesn't work

That means that Garmin Connect doesn't recognize its own files xD

Someone has a solution to this?

I test the export import procedure in Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge, ... same results.

Thanks in advance

  • I see Export to GPX and Export to FIT. Where are you getting an Export to TCX option?

    Hi TrippZ

    Thanks for answer,

I see a source of confusion here. I should say that I was talking about downloading an "activity" in order to change a lap. Activity has the options TCX since the file format has information about your hearth pace and others that I want to keep.

GPX has information about velocity and GPS traces but no other informations.

and FIT is a format that is compressed and I was unable to "change it" directly in a notepad editor.

Neverthless, I will see if I can keep the information I want in a "course file" by exporting to GPX and import as an activity.

    Thanks

    Hi all,

I confirm the course file only keep information for GPS location and no the other information in a course

So I still looking for a simple way of exporting a course(activity) in a TCX format in Garmin and then import the same file in Garmin Connect without any modification

(it sounds easy,... but it doesn't works)

    Best!

    OMG! LOL! :)

Thanks a lot taking your time to answer me!

So I tried with my browsers (Edge, Chrome and Firefox) under windows 10 and it didn't work.

But, following your indication I exported my file from my computer, and I downloaded the course in my mobile phone (samsung, android in chrome).

    And it works!!! :D:D

Thanks a lot for your time!

Now I will correct my TCX files and download them :)

Best regards and very nice weekend!
