My marathon training block is coming to an end and I am still manually entering time spent in HR zones after every workout to an excel file for analysis of total time spent in each of the 5 HR zones. Still waiting for this on Garmin Connect web.
I agree this is bad, but there’s a free 3rd-party website which syncs with your Connect and which can show you the same information:
https://www.runalyze.com
The Analysis tab shows me my time in HR zones on a monthly or yearly basis. However, it only handles a fixed set of zones and not the case where your zones might be changing over time.
Give Final Surge a try. Customizable zones by sport and reporting by both sport and time. Plus it works with Apple
To clarify, the zones in runalyze are customizable, but the displayed totals are always in terms of the zones you've currently set.
Meaning if the range for zone 5 changed over time (for example), there's no way to track that in runalyze or to see all the numbers in terms of what your zones were at the time. Runalyze also doesn't grab current or historical HR zone data from FIT files (although it seems like that data might be available there, except maybe for max HR and resting HR.)
Probably not a huge deal for most people unless they use LTHR zones or something.
We need this feature. It is required in order to monitor if you are on track with your expected 80% of Zone2 vs 20% of higher intensity training. Moreover, in addition to having this feature built as part of Garmin connect, it would be even better were we to have a on watch glance that provide you with this information.
YES ! garmin needs add this feature ASAP ! such a critical training analysis tool.
Plus one on being able to see time in heart rate zones across activities and date ranges. I'd also love to be able to create a custom goal for time spent in a HR zone for the week that I could put on my on my home screen or the "At a Glance" section.
Make it happen Garmin! This is an embarrassing feature gap
Weekly / annual time in heart rate zone is the basis for any serious training monitoring and Garmin is missing it for 5 years. Seriously!
Garmin, please stop work on HRV and similar until you get the basics right.
Just was looking for this feature
