I have been asking for this for 3 years now having switched from Polar. I am considering switching back to Polar simply because of this metric. The other option is to dump Strava Premium (it does not report on it either) and use the 69 dollars towards TrainingPeaks. But the Polar watch, say Vantage M is $279 and Polar Flow is free. So technically you could switch platforms. Garmin this is a BIG miss. What good is a device if the data analytics is not there.....It would take an investment of 50K and probably 200 lines of code. Go make it happen.
Totally agree! Garmin make it happen!
How is this still not a thing!!!
I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but the free site https://runalyze.com can sync with your Garmin account and show you lots of advanced data, including % of time in HR zone by month, week, day or year.
Please, this is essential data for training!
+1 This is essential for overall balanced training!
Well this tells me it is still not there...I completely left the platform for this reason and the fact that Garmin replaced (to their credit) my 645 three times due to pour quality on the brackets connecting the strap. I switched to an Apple SE - while not perfect - they do not claim to be :-) At least I have the freedom to pick from a variety of 3rd party software platforms while having the convenience of integrating with all things Apple. Garmin - with all due respect you cannot claim to be a fitness company with advanced devices and miss the easiest and most important fitness tracking mechanism - time in zones - by sport - over time....Its a Joke really. When I raced at my peak, I tailored and reported on 3 types of workouts - Intervals, Tempo, and LSD(s) - all of which were managed by zones. It was the zones that dictated changes to either time, distance, speed, or both. If I were racing/training as much as I did back then, I'd wear a Polar - hands down.....Completely integrated solution. Garmin - go figure it out who you are competing with - believe it or not you do compete with Training Peaks - whether you choose to accept it - you are a software company.
I bought the Fenix 7 Pro. New user to Garmin. I cannot believe a summary of time spent in each zone isn't available. I have to use a spreadsheet to supplement a thousand dollar watch because it can't do basic arithmetic. Totally, totally ridiculous.
