Personal Records not updating on garmin connect

Yesterday afternoon I got a PB for my 5km run, however this is not reflected in my personal best records. How can I update this?
my personal best record is showing a run I did over 2 years ago. I have beat this record at least 10 times in the past 3 weeks.
  • In History there is Records but inside there is "No records set or downloaded". In Swimming Pool activity inside there is "Records" too and inside there is also "No records set or downloaded".

    So I think Instinct should have support for personal records in this activity. Something is wrong.
  • Ok, but this clearly indicates that this is an issue with your watch not detecting records, and not with garmin connect.
  • Garmin 645 music here. Had this issue until I logged in to Garmin Connect in a web browser. I had to click on Personal Records on the left and there I accepted a bunch of PR. Now Garmin Connect on my phone shows the correct information. Hope it helps.

    You have to upload the records to the device from the GC Web Personal Record page  - see the blue button "Send to Device" in the upper right corner.

    1. Go to: www.connect.garmin.com 

    2. Open the menu (left upper corner, symbol with 3 horizontal III)

    3. Select at the end of menu “Personal Records“

    4. Choose your activity type f.ex. “Running”

    5. Confirm your new records

    6. Click “Send to device”

    7. Select your device and press “Send now”

    8. Click “Open”

    Et voilà!!

  • You can go to the particular workout set it as a PB and then sync the device. It is absolutely annoying that it does not do this automatically. 

    I spent an hour finding a solution for this

    HI,

    I have recently (last week) set some personal records for swimming:

    100 m - 1.54

    400 m - 8.09

    750 m - 15.34

    1000 m - 20.54

    These all showed on my watch face immediately following the activity. I opened the app on my phone and "accepted" all 4 personal records. No problem. Every time I have set a record in the past I have accepted and everything has updated every-time. These records show on the watch, on the mobile app and on Garmin web page.

    Today, for sure I beat all 4 of those times, but my watch only said I had set 2 new personal records 100 m & 400 m, I forget the exact time as the watch interface changed it's display after a second or two. Then... when I opened the mobile app on my phone it only gave me the option to accept ONE record - the 100 meters.

    100 m - 1.50 NEW RECORD accepted on mobile app

    400 m - I forget what it said after my swim but it was a NEW RECORD, But, NO option to accept on mobile app - new record not saved.

    750 m - did not give me a record for this time but I KNOW it would have been for sure faster than previous record

    1000m - 19.19 This is clearly faster than 20.54 but it did not recognise it as a personal record, so I did not get an option to accept on mobile app.

    Now, I know how to set a new PR on the Garmin web page, so I set my 1000 m final swim time as a new PR @19:19. Leaving me with the two old times for 400 m and 750 m.

    I guess my questions are; why might this have happened? How could I avoid it happening again? How do i accurately and manually set my 400 m and 750 m personal record?

    I really hope this doesn't happen again. I really don't want to manually set all PR's in future. I have running records and cycling records that have been set in past with no problems. I have not set new records on these recently so I don't know if this problem will affect me if I do....

    NB The watch has recently updated automatically (15.10.0.0). Is this potentially a bug that other people have noticed? Is this gonna happen again?
